Metal Coated Particles

Innovative and patent-protected water-based metal plating processes (including electroplating, electroless plating and others) are used to fabricate MCPs. The Metal Coated Particles division of Federal Technology Group supports a diverse cross-section of substrate particles and metals, ranging from metal-encapsulated TPG (Thermal Pyrolytic Graphite) plate to basic particulate materials, such as nickel-coated graphite and copper-coated silicon carbide.

MCPs vary widely in composition and possible application. MCPs can be a combination of virtually any elemental metal coating and any substrate material with a specific gravity greater than one.

The coating can be made from a single metal or comprise layers of different metals. The content of metal coating can vary between 0.1 wt.% to higher than 95 wt.%, and the particle size can range from several microns to several thousand microns.

MCP technology can be used to create a new generation of metal composite materials that offer superior performance in a broad range of applications not widely available in the current marketplace.
